Magdalene formal hall

I’ve had a busy few days, trying to get quieter nights as I need to spend some time getting on with work! Anyway (briefly to, I hope) on Sunday I got the impression that Panton students were set the challenge of having dinner at Magdalene College. I’m not entirely sure how accurate that is the more I think about it, but it turned out really well. I was chatting to James and we were walking and happened to bump in to Lucy, who’s at Magdalene so managed to get invited to formal hall this evening.

I was a bit nervous and hoping I hadn’t been too rude but Lucy seemed fine, and the three of us had a great evening. It’s been ages since I’ve seen and had a chance to chat to them, so it was cool. I don’t remember much detail about the only formal I’ve had at Emma but Magdalene’s was candle lit and 3 courses—a starter that seemed to be inspired by a small pizza, cod and then cheesecake. The food wasn’t awesome and James had forgotten to ask for vegetarian stuff so had lots of vegetables, but the company was good and in a posh venue. I’ve got the Annual Mathmo Dinner on Thursday evening here at Emma as well….

Yesterday was Helen’s birthday and I felt supremely organised having bought a present more than 2 days in advance. Forgetting to take it on Sunday kind of ruined that though. Also, Delirious? have released a new single, Paint the Town Red which sounds quite cool. New album in less than a month to, which should be superb!

I’m off to bed. Lots of maths to do tomorrow.
